Having a much better day today- thank goodness!

I am a bit tired today because the kids had ANOTHER sleep over. They have been out of school one week, and already they have had 5 sleepovers (between the 2 oldest)- they have been to the beach twice, out for dinner with friends, a birthday party and swimming every day- with friends. I am tired already from all their activity and I am sure tonight they will be unhappy because it will be just "us"- no friends over, although I am sure they will try to weasel that in somehow. But I will firmly say no, as last night the boys kept me up until 12:00 and I had to get up at 6:00 am.

I am taking Friday off so we can go on our family trip to Paso...hopefully it will be as fun & relaxing as it was last year. It is always so nice to get away....looking forward to this winery- always good wine there...eberle, and Four Vines and Tolo and, and, and, and....

So the school year ends....

and summer vacation begins...I wish that I could be home with them and do fun summer things.

Riley got an award at the last assembly for being a "good friend"- I guess maybe they ran out of ideas???

Tanner had his 5th grade promotion yesterday. He sat next to two of his friends...look at that hair. He had it cut yesterday, as you can see he can't see. He wouldn't go to the end of year party (for all 5th graders) after school- couldn't get a real reason out of him.
And this one finished preschool and will start Kindergarten. Don't let his face fool you- he loves his teacher. He thinks she is so funny! It was sad when Jake finished. We have had a child at Calvary for the last 6 years....it just seems sad not to have a child there anymore....

my babies are growing up.... :(

'The God of Animals'....has anyone read this? I stayed up last night a little later than normal to finish this and well, I don't really know how I feel about it after finishing it. It wasn't one of those happy books with a predictable ending...lets just say it left me still thinking about it.
Just like the movie "There Will be Blood"...that movie made my stomach hurt. I hate movies like that. We watched this movie over the weekend...it ended and I just thought, "huh, that's it!?"....
I need to find something happy & uplifting to read or watch....

Found this...

when I downloaded pictures from my camera yesterday. He is so into skateboarding right now....does this every day. And every day he is told "Wear your helmet". He has had his skateboard taken away because he "forgets" to put the helmet on. So he uses my camera to take shots of himself (his friend was over this past weekend) and he has NO HELMET ON...hmmm, I wonder if he will get in trouble???Kids...

It looks like he probably didn't land this one. There is a name for this little stunt here. He is trying to flip his skateboard and then still land it...It looks to me like he is going to break his neck. Oh well, he will have a talk from me when I get home from work about the helmet thing.....

Hello

Haven't felt much like blogging...not that I ever have anything important or funny to say....

I need to read this over & over again and then maybe it will stick in my brain- easier said then done....

33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Disneyland

A couple of weeks ago, we all took the day off from school & work and went to Disneyland. It was a fun day. I really love that place - it just makes me happy. These were a few of the pictures that I liked from the day. We went on Splash Mountain in the morning- I got to sit up front- and I got drenched- so needless to say, my hair looked like a curly mess the rest of the day. The next TWO times we went on Splash Mountain, I sat in back & made sure I ducked behind Mark so he got wet! :)

Weekend

We had a busy, but fun weekend...It started by going out to dinner at Original Mike's. They have a room off the restaurant area that is closed off by french doors, so we thought it would be the perfect spot for dinner with another couple & 6 kids combined. It was fun, although, at 9:00 the whole restaurant shuts down & turns into a bar- one side with live music and the other with a DJ...needless to say they were pushing for us to leave...which was fine by us, since the walls started to thump! Here is a cute picture of 4 of the kids on the old fire engine inside of the building....
On Saturday, Tanner's bball team had a 4:30 game...it went into extra innings and they ended losing in the bottom of the 7th, 3-2. They played the 1st place team, so we were pleasantly surprised that the score was what it was since Tanner's team was in last place. Tanner threw out a runner at 3rd...so awesome.(he was playing catcher) The coach yelled out- "Tanner- you are the man!!" Tanner just looks over at him, no expression on his face, I on the other hand get tears in my eyes, because I am so proud of him. The season is now officially OVER!!! We had tickets to the Angel game, so we were about an hour late to that on Saturday night because of Tanner's game.
Then Sunday, we went to Church, Costco & Ralphs...fun, huh? :) Was a fun weekend though...too bad Monday came so quickly!
