I am reading 2 books right now- one I am having a hard time getting into, but this one - this is a total "fluff" book- easy to read and no gloom & doom. I love those kinds of books!

layouts

I scrapped this weekend, which was very fun for me...it hasn't been fun the last few times I did it. I think because my scrap area was overflowing with pictures/mess that I just couldn't get motivated. I actually scrapped about 6 layouts - they are very simple (read boring) but at least I did them. I don't know why my scanner is making the pictures weird, but I am too lazy to re-do.

Love this picture of Jake, Therese did some of her photoshop magic on it to make his eyes pop, but the scan doesn't do it justice. Thanks Therese.

This layout was a kit from Scrapbook Oasis and I have had it forever...(does the Oasis still put together kits?) I can take no credit for the layout at all-

It felt good to scrapbook, I hope I can do it again soon....

Isn't that a pretty sky? I am sure it could have been a better shot if -
1. I had a better camera (this was taken with my little digital camera) and
2. If I were a better photographer!! I so wish I could take better pictures and I wish I had a photo editing software that wasn't years old. Ok- enough whining.

So, I got both Riley & Jake to sing in chorus at school! Amazing. Jake is truly shy (only with people he doesn't know)and he said he "would go to chorus but he wasn't going to sing!" I knew once he got there that he would. He loves to sing. They will be singing songs from the late sixties - Aquarius, Here Comes the Sun, and a Monkees song that I cannot for the life of me remember the title. (I was a HUGE Monkees fan when I was a kid, so it is making me mad) Those are the first songs they are learning. I am sure it will be a great performance- the two teachers who put on the "show" do a wonderful job! I will definitely get pictures of them dressed up in their 60's garb!

Family night at Cotillion - although I don't think she will admit it, she had alot of fun dancing with her dad. According to Mark, she likes to lead, which he says, she takes after me? Hmmm...didn't realize that I did that.

It is nice to see her out of her comfort zone, hanging around girls that are not her usual "group". Now, if I could get her to agree to be in chorus again before school. Every time we bring it up, she has a melt down (seriously) because "we are so mean", "none of her friends are doing it" and she "hates her life". Can we say "drama queen"???

gives me the best love...he gives me hugs & kisses with a "love you momma" constantly. I hope that never changes...
