*Baseball, win at all costs?*

You gotta love that face.... :) Such intense concentration seen here!
So yesterday Tanner has a game against a team that is good-the coaches of this said team are very intense, kinda want to win at all costs. I got to the game in the third inning and it was tied 3 to 3. I can tell that Tanner was feeling some pressure...a ball got by him (as catcher) and the other team went ahead by one. When they get their 3 outs, Tanner is up to bat 1st. He hits the first ball pitched, right to the short and he throws to the 1st basemen who has to step off the bag to get the ball, but they still call Tanner out. Well, in the prior inning the same thing happened to our 1st baseman, and they call the other team save. So I can tell Tanner is really upset....he jogs back to the dugout and takes his helmet off and he starts to cry!!! This has never happened before- in any of Tanner's sports. Tanner just does not show emotion like that. So when I look over & see that he is crying, the first thing I want to do is run over there and give him a hug, which of course I know would horrify him...instead we stay back & don't say anything to him, but boy did it make me want to cry too.
The Angels end up winning because the bases were loaded and the other team walked our batter....and now the other team's coaches are saying that the walked batter did not touch the 1st base plate...so they are going to protest the game! I mean really, we are talking about 10 year olds here....that is so absolutely ridiculous to me! But as I said, winning at all costs.....

*is the slump over?*

I don't think so, but I actually scrapped this weekend. I finished the two layouts that have been sitting on my desk for the last month. I really don't care for how they turned out, but they are done- so I felt like I could move on to something else...and here is the only other layout I did this weekend....at least it is a start

*happy*

Seeing this first thing when I walk in the door at Jakes preschool made me so happy- when I read it to him he was grinning from ear to ear. He was so excited to go tell Mrs K. when he got to the opening morning classroom- but she wasn't there. Everyday when I pick him up from preschool he asks me if he got a good note! :) (because some days he doesn't get good notes.... ;)

*Ten*

He is ten- when did that happen? Where did my baby go? I cannot believe how much he has grown up in the last few months.
For a while now, his weekends are all about how he and his friends can have a sleep over...how late they can stay up and how early can they get up. And then the next day, it is how long they can stay at each other's house. I like that he has his friends over so I can still see him, I don't want him to be gone every weekend, but sometimes, I just wish we could have a weekend where we didn't have to have a "sleep over" and I didn't hear any complaints!

*wind sister*

Riley's first grade play was title 'The Search for the Ancient Barometer'. It was all about the weather...she was a wind sister. She and 5 other girls came out and did their song & dance about the wind-too cute. All the girls had their hair up like the wind had blown it all around. I think Riley has a can of hairspray in her hair! She loved it!! She has no problem getting up & singing & dancing in front of group- as long as there are others up there with her....

*Twisted Vine*

M & I got a rare night out on Saturday and after we had dinner we went to this cool wine bar in Fullerton called The Twisted Vine. It is a really nice, fun place to taste & drink some good wine. The last time we were there I tasted a Cab from Whitehall Lane Winery that was soooo good and when I asked to have a glass of that it was $21.00 for a glass! That night I didn't order it, but when we went on Saturday, M & I shared a glass and then I bought a bottle...the bottle was only $32.00 (I think) which is about $8 cheaper than what the winery sells it for. YUM...I am saving this for a special occasion! :)

*slump*

I am in such a scrapbooking slump. I want to scrapbook so bad, seriously, I think about it constantly, yet when I have the chance to do it, I cannot sit down at my table. I have a layout that has been sitting there for over two weeks and I think because I really don't like what I have done so far, I cannot bring myself to finish it. Why I don't just push it aside and go on I don't know.....

*Desert*

Surprise, Surprise...I actually had a really good time in the desert this weekend. (other than all the wind and dirt flying around). The kids had a great time- Riley rode the 50 for the first time, Jake would not get off the quad, Tanner had fun going off jumps and Mark just has fun no matter what....I had fun riding in and driving the rhino...

*weekend*

So this is what I hope to be doing this weekend- reading....We are going to the desert so the rest of the family can go motorcycle riding. While I enjoy doing this on occasion, it isn't my favorite thing to do...so hopefully I will be able to get some reading time in.

I downloaded some pictures from my camera yesterday and I got about 6 pictures of my dashboard and the picture looking out of the passenger window.
I ran in the house on Monday and left Jake & Riley in the car...Riley followed me, so Jake was in there by himself. When I came out minutes later, he was sitting in the front seat looking very guilty about something. As I got in I noticed that my windshield wipers were turned on, the lights were on, my steering wheel was tilted, etc....but I had no idea that he turned the digital camera and took pictures...:) I am sure that is why he was acting so guilty!! I will have to show him the great pictures he took! ;) !

*Mommy & Me Day*

So this Saturday at Jake's preschool we had Mommy & Me day....I was feeling horrible, could barely talk, but we were not going to miss this. We got to decorate cupcakes, we made a keychain, took pictures together, wrote a book, had lunch...and Jake told me he had a fun day. When he was asked about how Mommy & Me day went he says "good"- what did you do? "we ate some food and I got in trouble because I wasn't listenting to Mom"....that's all he says! I said well, what about all the other stuff we did, then he says, "oh yeah, we did....." Funny kid.

*friend*

I got to spend time with my friend K last week and it was so fun. We were supposed to go to Bunco. I was meeting her at her house to chat and have a glass of wine. We haven't been able to do this in months, so next thing we knew it was almost 2 hours later and we are still chatting...needless to say we did not play Bunco... It is so nice to reconnect with friends, it is like we haven't been apart at all...I love that! :) Too bad I didn't take a picture to document!!! I never think about it until it is too late!
